Erasmus+ Project Search - User Manual

Overview

The Project Search page allows users to query the Erasmus+ project database using a combination of project details and geographic criteria. You can filter projects based on who is coordinating them, who is partnering in them, and specific administrative details.

Search Criteria

The search panel is divided into three main sections: Project Details, Filter Logic, and Geographic Filters.

1. Project Details

These filters narrow down projects based on their administrative classification.

  • Key Action: Select the high-level Erasmus+ Key Action (e.g., "KA1 - Learning Mobility").
    • Note: Selecting a Key Action will automatically refresh the page to populate the Action Type dropdown with relevant options.
  • Action Type: Select the specific activity type (e.g., "Youth Mobility").
  • Call Year: Enter the 4-digit year of the project call (e.g., 2022).
  • Project Identifier: Search for a specific project ID (e.g., 2022-1-FR01...). Partial matches are supported.
  • Project Title: Search for keywords within the project title.

2. Filter Logic

This setting determines how the Coordinator and Partner geographic filters interact with each other.

  • AND (Match Both): The default setting. Returns projects that meet ALL specified criteria.
    • Example: If you search for Coordinator: France AND Partner: Germany, you will only see projects managed by a French organisation that have at least one German partner.
  • OR (Match Either): Returns projects that meet EITHER the Coordinator criteria OR the Partner criteria.
    • Example: If you search for Coordinator: France OR Partner: Germany, you will see all projects managed by France (regardless of partners) plus all projects with a German partner (regardless of who manages it).

3. Geographic Filters

You can filter by the location of the organisations involved.

Coordinator Filters

Filters projects based on the location of the Lead Organisation.

  • Coordinator Countries: Enter 2-letter country codes separated by commas (e.g., FR, DE, UK).
    • Behavior: Finds projects where the coordinator is in ANY of the listed countries.
  • Region / County / Constituency: These dropdowns allow for granular filtering (primarily for UK data).
    • Selecting a Region filters the available Counties.
    • Selecting a County filters the available Constituencies.

Partner Filters

Filters projects based on the location of the Partner Organisations.

  • Partner Countries: Enter 2-letter country codes (e.g., ES, IT).
  • Match All (Checkbox):
    • Unchecked (Default): Finds projects with ANY partner from the listed countries. (e.g., ES, IT finds projects with a Spanish partner OR an Italian partner).
    • Checked: Finds projects that have partners from ALL listed countries. (e.g., ES, IT finds projects that involve BOTH Spain AND Italy).
  • Region / County / Constituency: Similar to coordinator filters, these allow you to find projects involving partners from specific areas.

Geographic Data & UK Specifics

The system contains enhanced geographic data for the United Kingdom.

  • Regions: (e.g., "North West", "Lothian")
  • Counties: (e.g., "Greater Manchester", "Surrey")
  • Constituencies: Parliamentary constituencies (e.g., "Manchester Central").

Note: If a specific Region or County does not appear in the dropdown, it means no organisations in the database are currently associated with that location.

Troubleshooting

  • No results found?
    • Try changing the Filter Logic from "AND" to "OR".
    • Ensure "Match All" is unchecked if you are looking for a broad range of partners.
    • Clear the geographic dropdowns (Region/County) as they may be too specific.
  • Dropdowns empty?
    • The Region/County/Constituency dropdowns populate based on the Country codes entered. Ensure you have entered UK (or other supported codes) in the Country field to see options.
